"The Least and The Greatest:
The Secret of Success
"
Sermon Outline

Pastor Dean Koontz

Luke 9:46-48

There is something universal about a child. They can teach us much. Jesus used
a child to teach His disciples a very important truth.

Do you want to be successful in life? Do you tend to
buy into the world's standard of success?

1. The world says you are successful according to the
power that you exercise over others.

2.  Or the world says you are great by the position you hold.

3. Or yet again, the world says that possessions make you great.

By using a child to illustrate His point, Jesus underscores:

1. The humility of a child

2. The receptivity of a child

3. The potentiality of a child

4. The teachability of a child

God's standard for greatness--for success--is and always has been:

SERVICE, motivated by LOVE, and
performed in FAITHFULNESS

"Well done, good and faithful servant, you have been faithful over a few things,
I will make you ruler over many things: enter in the joy of your Lord."
